Keeping Everton in Our City

what no one has mentioned is when qpr moved to the old white city ground in the 60s. 2 miles from loftus and away from there fan base
attendances fell from 30000 at loftus road to 4000 at white city. In fact the were back at loftus road after one season

this is my biggest fear with Everton . Attendances will fall and it will mean more kopites as it would be cheaper to go see Liverpool than Everton for the kids. and Everton will not gain as much new support if we leave the city it will mean more kopites
and Everton couldn’t move back to Goodison if this problem arose

with respect matty thats a load of shite. most redshite supporters are from OVERSEAS - they arent supported by as many locals now because of everton taking local support off them, its because they win things (sometimes) and the reputation they built up in the 60s and 70s.

Most of them are only glory hunters.

If norwegians can travel hundreds of miles to support the rs what kind of blues supporter wouldnt travel 4 miles to support the club?

And what kind of blues supporter would take his kids to the rs because it was cheaper????

It happened in 1892, I suppose it could happen again. Or they could start their own club, a la AFC liverpool...

Seriously, I feel that a lot of this mistrust is only borne out of little or no information from the club, which can be percieved as lies and/or contempt...but I can also see why the club has 'shut up shop' as it were, after all the abuse they have recieved at almost every step of the way.

Hopefully the EGM can clear the air a fair bit.

They shut up shop because they couldn't provide any answers due to the fundamentally flawed process to date. Even at the last AGM they wheeled out their "expert" in an attempt to confound their critics and he was sent packing confessing he wasn't really up to speed on all the details. He hadn't even read the HOK report that he was supposed to argue against. The motives behind the EGM have been highlighted, and are straight forward criticisms of Kirkby and what it has evolved into in comparison to what was promised at the vote.

Don't get me wrong, the club has been derelict in its duty to its real shareholders (the fans) to keep them informed.

This is a golden opportunity to do it.

Lets hope they don't f*#k it up.
